The words Paddl uses across the Admin App and Members App, and what each one means.

Your property and account

  • Property: one hotel. Everything in Paddl belongs to a property.

  • Business Account: the account a property runs Paddl on. Each property has one. See Switch between Business Accounts.

People

  • Member: anyone with an account on a property, whether an Admin or a team member.

  • Admin: a member of the hotel management team who uses the Admin App, such as a GM, HR manager or people manager.

  • Team member: a member who uses the Members App, such as housekeeping, front of house, reception, guest services or kitchen staff.

  • Account Status: where a member stands with Paddl: Invited, Unsent, Active or Archived. See Invite your People.

  • Group: a set of members within a property, used to organise people and report on them. See Create a Group.

  • Manager: someone added to a Group as its Manager, who can see the Group's members and their progress in the Members App. A Manager doesn't have to be a member of the Group.

Training

  • Activity: one piece of training, from a connected provider or your own content. See Create an Activity.

  • Activity status: where a member stands on an Activity: complete, pending or overdue.

  • Program: a set of Activities with the requirement automated. You set it once, it's assigned automatically, and Activity Records and expiry are tracked. See Create a Program.

  • Required activities: the Activities a team member must complete.

  • Activity Record: the record of a member's completed Activity, with its expiry tracked. Activity Records can be sent to a connected HRIS and kept on the team member's record there.

  • Job-ready: a team member who has completed what their role requires.

Dashboard and connections

  • Member rings: the Dashboard's three counts: members, active members and ready members. See Read your Dashboard.

  • Connection: a link from Paddl to a system your property already runs. Paddl uses it to fetch data and perform actions. See How connections work.

  • Sync status: whether a connection is working, shown by a green or red dot next to it under Connections in the sidebar. See Manage your connections.

  • Quick links: links on the Members App homepage to your brand, HR tool and operator. See Customise your Experience.
