Add, check, change and reconnect your connections.

Add a connection, check it's working, and reauthorise or remove it when you need to.

Before you start

  • An account on the system you're connecting, with access to the data you want in Paddl.

Add a connection

  1. Open the Connections page. In the sidebar, select Add connection at the bottom of the Connections list.

  2. Select Connect on the one you want.

  3. Sign in and allow access. Sign in to the other system, or enter the details it needs, then save. Each setup guide explains what its connection asks for.

Pro tip: Sign in with a group account, such as [email protected], rather than a personal one. The connection keeps running when people change roles, as long as the other system allows group accounts.

Check a connection is working

Every connection you've set up is listed under Connections in the sidebar, and has a card on the Connections page. A green dot means it's working. A red dot means it needs your attention.

Manage a connection

Select the connection under Connections in the sidebar, or select Manage on its card. Its page shows who connected it and when, and lets you:

  • Reauthorise: sign in again, for example when the person who connected it has moved on or the dot has turned red.

  • Turn it off: use the Active switch to pause it without removing it.

  • Disconnect: remove the link to the other system.

Good to know

  • Nothing is lost if you turn a connection off. Members, Groups and records it created stay in Paddl. Only syncing stops.
