Employment Hero is a Workforce connection. It brings your team members and teams into Paddl, keeps them up to date, and can send completed training back to Employment Hero as Certifications.
Before you start
An Employment Hero account with access to the organisation you want to sync.
Pro tip: Connect with a group account, such as [email protected], rather than a personal one. The connection keeps running when people change roles, as long as Employment Hero allows group accounts.
What moves where
Into Paddl: team members, including new hires as they join, their User Details such as Role Title, and teams, which become Groups.
Back to Employment Hero: completed Activities you choose, which appear as Certifications.
Steps
Select Connect on Employment Hero. In the sidebar, select Add connection at the bottom of the Connections list to open the Connections page.
Sign in and allow access. Sign in to Employment Hero, then allow Paddl the access it asks for.
Choose your organisation. Pick the Employment Hero organisation that matches your property. If Employment Hero doesn't supply a name, Paddl shows a short reference instead.
Choose what to sync. In Sync Users, choose the User Details you want kept up to date, including Status if you want archiving to sync (see below). Select Groups to turn your Employment Hero teams into Paddl Groups.
Decide on new hires. New team members from Employment Hero can be invited straight away, or held until you're ready.
Turn on Push Certifications to let Paddl send completed Activities to Employment Hero as Certifications.
Save your changes. Paddl shows a summary of what will happen before anything changes.
Important: Inviting your team is your go-live. In step 5, hold new invitations until your Activities, Programs and homepage are ready.
Choose which Activities sync
Turn on Sync with Employment Hero in each Activity you want sent. Select Manage Activity at the top right of the Activity's page, then find the switch under Connections on the Settings tab. When a team member completes that Activity, Paddl creates a Certification in Employment Hero. See Activity settings for the other options there.
Archiving team members who leave
Status in User Details is off by default. Turn it on to let Employment Hero archive team members in Paddl when they leave.
Important: With Status checked, any team member archived in Employment Hero is also archived in Paddl. Check your Employment Hero records are up to date before you turn it on.
How synced Groups work
Employment Hero looks after a synced Group's name and who's in it. You look after everything else in Paddl, such as its Programs and managers. Synced Groups show a Connected badge on their page and a link icon in the sidebar. See Create a Group.
Manage the connection
Select Employment Hero under Connections in the sidebar to change what syncs, reauthorise, turn it off or disconnect it.
Good to know
Nothing is lost if you turn the connection off. Team members and Groups it created stay in Paddl. Only syncing stops.
Removed teams become ordinary Groups. If a team is deleted in Employment Hero, its Group stays in Paddl with its members and assignments.
