HeyGen is a Training connection. Connect your property's HeyGen account, then add its videos to any Activity with a HeyGen block.
Before you start
A HeyGen account with the videos you want to use.
A HeyGen API key. You create it in HeyGen, as part of the steps below.
Each property has one HeyGen connection, managed by its Admins.
Important: HeyGen videos play through HeyGen's "Anyone with the link" sharing. That means anyone who has a video's link can watch it outside Paddl too. Keep confidential material out of HeyGen videos.
Create your API key in HeyGen
Open HeyGen's API keys page. Sign in to HeyGen and go to the API keys page, then start a new key.
Name it Paddl, so you know what it's for later.
Under Access, choose Read only. Paddl only needs to read your videos, so the key can't change anything in your HeyGen account.
Under Expires, choose Never, unless your organisation needs keys to expire.
Select Create key and copy it.

Connect HeyGen to Paddl
Select Connect on HeyGen. In the sidebar, select Add connection at the bottom of the Connections list to open the Connections page.
Paste your API key and save. The connection shows a green dot once the key is accepted.
Add a video to an Activity. When you create or edit an Activity, choose HeyGen under Add Content, then search for your video and select Add.
What team members see
Videos play in HeyGen's own player inside the Activity, using their normal Paddl access. Portrait and landscape videos size themselves automatically. HeyGen's comments and reactions appear on the player.
Manage the connection
Select HeyGen under Connections in the sidebar to update your API key, turn it off or disconnect it.
Good to know
Keys that expire need replacing. If you set an expiry date, or regenerate or delete the key in HeyGen, create a new one and paste it into the HeyGen connection in Paddl, or new videos can't be added.
Finish videos in HeyGen first. Videos still being made show in the picker, but can be added once they're finished.
HeyGen's settings still apply. If a video is made private, password-protected or deleted in HeyGen, team members see HeyGen's own message instead of the video.
Videos keep playing if you disconnect. Videos already in your Activities carry on working, but you can't add new ones.
Watching doesn't complete the Activity. Team members mark the Activity complete as usual.
Keep your API key private. Don't share it outside your Admin team.
