Typsy setup guide

Bring Typsy courses and lessons into your training.

Typsy is a Training connection. Connect your property's Typsy account to add its hospitality courses to your Activities, and to add its shorter lessons to Activities you build yourself.

Before you start

  • SCORM access on your Typsy account, unlocked by your Typsy account manager.

  • Your Public Key and Account Identifier from Typsy. Your account manager can provide these too.

Pro tip: Ask your Typsy account manager for SCORM access and both credentials in the same request, so you have everything you need in one go.

Connect Typsy

  1. Select Connect on Typsy (SCORM). In the sidebar, select Add connection at the bottom of the Connections list to open the Connections page.

  2. Enter your Public Key and Account Identifier. They're under Connection Settings. Each shows Configured once it's saved.

  3. Check the connection is Active. Use the switch at the top of the connection to turn it on or off.

  4. Turn on Add course library to Discover if you want team members to browse Typsy courses for themselves. It's under Other Settings.

Courses and lessons

Typsy gives you two kinds of content:

  • Courses are complete training on a topic. Each one becomes its own Activity.

  • Lessons are much shorter items. Add them to Activities you build yourself, alongside your own content.

Add a Typsy course as an Activity

  1. Open the arrow on Add an Activity. It's at the top right of the Activities page. Under From Connection, select Typsy (SCORM).

  2. Find a course and select Add. Every course in your Typsy library is listed, and you can search for one by name.

Added courses appear in Activities with the Typsy logo, ready to add to a Program. Their content comes from Typsy, so you can't edit it: the course's page shows Go to Source instead of Edit Content.

Add a Typsy lesson to your own Activity

  1. Select Typsy Lesson under Add Content when you create or edit an Activity.

  2. Find a lesson and select it. Search your Typsy library by name.

Pro tip: Use lessons to build training around your property's own standards, for example a short Typsy lesson on table service followed by your own PDF of the restaurant's service steps.

What team members see

Typsy courses and lessons play inside Paddl, alongside the rest of their training. With the library in Discover, they can also find Typsy courses to take on their own.

Important: This connection doesn't create standard user records in your Typsy Manager portal. Track your team's Typsy progress in Paddl.

Manage the connection

Select Typsy (SCORM) under Connections in the sidebar to update your credentials, change its settings, turn it off or delete it.
