Activity content blocks

The types of content you can add to an Activity.

Content blocks are what an Activity is made of. Add them in the order team members should work through them, and mix as many types as you need.

Add a block

  1. Open the Activity's content to edit it.

  2. Choose a block type under Add Content.

  3. Fill in the block, then save changes.

Paddl blocks

These are built into Paddl and ready to use. Under Add Content, they show a simple line icon.

  • Video: paste the link to a video, such as one on YouTube or Vimeo, and it plays inside the Activity. Use it for videos that aren't in an account you've connected.

  • Image: adds an image.

  • Link: links to a web page your team needs to read or use.

  • Text Block: adds your own written instructions or information.

  • PDF: shows a PDF in a viewer inside the Activity, set to landscape or portrait to match your document. Team members can also download it.

  • SCORM: plays a SCORM course you already have inside the Activity.

Blocks from your connections

Many training connections add a block of their own, so you can pick content straight from the tool you already use, such as a video, lesson or form. Once you've connected the tool, its block appears under Add Content with the tool's logo. See How connections work.

  1. Choose the tool under Add Content. A panel opens showing your content from that tool.

  2. Search for what you want and select it to add it to the Activity.

Each connection's setup guide, in the Connections collection, explains what its block adds and anything to check first.

Pro tip: Select Manage at the top of the panel to jump straight to that connection, for example to check it's working.

If your content won't load

Select Retry. If the panel still can't load your content, select Manage at the top of the panel to check the connection, and reauthorise it if it needs reconnecting.

Good to know

  • Don't see a tool under Add Content? Its block only appears once the connection is set up and working. Check it's listed under Connections in the sidebar with a green dot.

  • Duration adds itself up. An Activity's duration is worked out from the blocks in it.
